Sharing the Peace Innovation Method with Santander Consumer Bank

I divide my professional career into ‘Before the PIL workshop’ and ‘After the PIL workshop
— Gunnar Brandhagen, Region Leader for Sales Finance and Head of Insurance for Norway.

This past week concluded the last workshop of Phase I of our work with Santander Bank. Peace Innovation Institute co-directors Mark Nelson and Margarita Quihuis have been facilitating workshops for the bank in the Nordics since May 2019. Through these workshops, the PII team has brought groups across the bank together to collaborate, increased positive employee engagement, and taught them our signature methodology. The Peace Innovation method equips employees with the skills needed to collaborate and co-create across departmental and even geographic boundaries more efficiently than ever before. With our corporate engagements, we try to continually find new ways to add value to the workplace. If we can give workshop attendees something that they can immediately implement with their team on Monday, and increase our partners' ROI, then that's a job well done in our book.

Overall, Santander participants agree it was a great way to work: new concepts were tested quickly, feedback was relevant and rapid, they saved time and money, the results were rewarding and as a bonus, they had a great time doing it. This new way of thinking and the “test and fail” rapid prototyping are transforming Santander’s culture, one employee at a time.
